For ABA (American Board of Anesthesiology) diplomates, MOC credit refers to the ongoing learning and assessment activities required to maintain certification. The ABA MOC program consists of four parts:
- Professionalism and Professional Standing
- Lifelong Learning and Self-Assessment
- Assessment of Knowledge, Judgment, and Skills
- Improvement in Medical Practice
To maintain certification, ABA diplomates must complete activities in each of these four parts, including participating in self-assessment activities, completing educational courses and conferences, and undergoing performance assessments. Diplomates must earn a certain number of MOC points within a specific timeframe to maintain their certification. The ABA requires ongoing MOC activities to ensure that diplomates stay up to date with the latest developments in anesthesiology and continue to provide high-quality care to their patients.
Many of Acapedia's premium courses are eligible for the CME requirement for Part II of the Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology Program (MOCA) of the ABA and most are eligible for patient safety credit!
